Ice warnings are in place across much of the UK today as heavy snow continues to cause disruption.
But as the snow subsides,
forecasters are predicting heavy rain and warn the milder temperatures
will thaw the snow, causing flooding in parts of the country by the end
of the weekend.
Last night the Environment Agency issued more than 40 flood alerts, the most severe in Wales and the South West of England.
There are also three flood warnings in place for the South West today.
It is expected to stay above
freezing in the south of England today, in what forecasters are expecting to be a ‘fine winter’s
day’, but temperatures will then dip to as low as 4 further north tomorrow as the snow heads upwards.
